Although it may not show, Terence has been a photographer for the last decade, and thanks to his Asian genes, keeps looking young while he's at it, but he likely might be just Photoshopped anyway. With a background in studio work, Terence is masterful in helping his clients get comfortable in front the camera, whether it be babies or large groups of people. Focusing on genuine expressions and capturing memories, his skills have evolved since then to cover weddings, engagements and portraits, and he always carries the fundamental value that it is more important to click with the person than to click that shutter. When he's not behind a camera, Terence enjoys spending time with his wife on food adventures and forced hikes after recently getting married in July 2018. He also has a passion for personal electric vehicles (PEVs) and can be found riding the streets of Vancouver on his electric unicycle. Terence is also one of the official photographers for the graduation ceremonies of UBC, Douglas College, and Capilano University, and has led the official photography team for the BMO Vancouver Marathon, Rock n' Roll Marathon, Granfondo Marathon races in the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
The StoryWe've been professional, full-time photographers and videographers for over a decade. We had formal training in fashion and filmmaking. Our work has been featured in magazines and has had the fortune to receive multiple awards. This makes us artists and storytellers at our core. We search for the story within you and bring it to our images with experience, creativity, and sophistication. We'll Be Your GuideWe will coach you through everything. Don't worry about looking stiff or not knowing what to do. We will be there by your side, especially with people that "don't know where to look" and "don't know where to put their hands." If directions are what you need, we have you covered. Our ApproachWe understand that you're unique. Some people want to look like a model, some people just want to be candid... We do both, and we do it in a way that is more than just creating, and capturing your memories. It's about you enjoying those moments; they're true to you, in the moment, and created with an intention. Kind Words"I've had the privilege to work together with Lucho on several occasions. He's masterful at what he does, combining artistic vision with technical skills. It's one thing to take high-quality pictures with a camera and do some touching up; it's another when someone is able to express the essence of the moment itself. Lucho was excellent at understanding what I wanted in my photos and worked with me until I got results that exceeded my expectations!"- Alex "My husband and I are so happy that we decided to go with Farawayland Weddings. Jana and Lucho are an amazing duo! Our final product was amazing and made all our family members cry! Definitely recommend to any couple!"- Lily

I specialize in candid documentary. My philosophy: embrace the weird in you. The quirks, the smirks, and the unguarded moments are the ingredients to making a wedding album an authentic representation of you. When I'm in the zone, I become some sort of ninja where I blend in and not be obtrusive to anyone or anything. But I can make my presence known whenever I'm needed. I can easily transition from being inconspicuous to being the boss when it's time to wrangle family members for the family photos. I capture weddings and events from as many different points of view and angles as I can. I love to document the nuisances that occurred throughout the day which I feel like brings the whole story together. Whether it's the detail of the decor, or the raw moments shared between two individuals, or even the tantrums of the flower girl or the ring bearer – you can bet I've got them in my reel! Above everything else, I want YOU to feel COMFORTABLE in your own skin, ENJOY the experience and be CONFIDENT that you have one less item to think about on your wedding day.
