Compressing Photos for use on your website:

  1. For Galleries and Blog Content: Resize to 1000 pixels long edge
  2. For Cover Images: Resize to 2000 pixels long edge
  3. After resizing, compress the photos using https://compressjpeg.com/ 
  4. The resulting files should be less than 300 KB. This is important to maintain site speed and SEO performance.

How to Create a Blog Post

  1. Go into your editor and select ‘Collections’ -> ‘Posts’ -> ‘New Post’
  1. Enter the name, url slug and main cover image for the post.
  1. The ‘Content’ section is the body of your blog post. Here you can write text, upload images (make sure they are compressed) and even upload videos. If you are ever having trouble getting the ‘+’ to appear. Simply hit enter as if to start a new line and it should show up!
  1. Save your post! If you want it to go live on your site with the next publish. Ensure it has the status: Staged for Publish.
  1. If you just want to save the post and keep working on it. Save it as a draft.

How to Add Photos to a Gallery

  1. Go to your ‘Collections’ -> ‘Galleries’
  1. Click the gallery you want to edit
  1. Enter the name, url slug and main cover image for the post.
  2. Add Photos to your gallery using the ‘+’ sign. If you are having trouble getting the plus sign to appear. Simply click an image and hit enter. It will start a new line below that image with the plus sign. Make sure your images are compressed before adding them to a gallery.
  1. Save your gallery! If you want it to go live on your site with the next publish. Ensure it has the status: Staged for Publish. If you just want to save the post and keep working on it. Save it as a draft.

How to Create a New Gallery Category

  1. If you decide you want to list a new category of photography on your site such as ‘weddings’ you’ll need to create a new gallery category and a new gallery that is associated with that category.
  2. Start by creating a new Gallery Category by navigating to ‘Collections’ -> ‘Gallery Categories’ -> ‘New Gallery Category’.
  1. Start by entering the Name of the category, the url slug and
  1. uploading an image to represent that category in the gallery tiles. 
  2. You will also need to upload a gallery cover image that will appear in the hero image of your gallery. 
  1. You will need to pick a gallery to associate with this category. If you haven’t created the gallery yet. You can come back to this step later. Lastly, you can set a priority to determine what order this gallery category shows up in your gallery tiles. If you have 5 gallery categories and you set this one to 5. It will show up last.
  1. Create a gallery to correspond to the gallery category you created. Fill in the required fields and choose the corresponding gallery category in the dropdown.
  1. If you skipped step 5 you will need to go back to your gallery category and select your new gallery in the dropdown. After this is complete you should see your new gallery category appear on your ‘Galleries’ page.


How to Publish your Site

  1. When you are ready to publish changes to your site. Simply hit publish! Make sure you review the changes that are about to go live.
