If you've ever had trouble keeping track of your bookings or payments, spent hours writing up invoices, or re-explained the same package details three times to your customer, you're in the right place.

With Focal, it's easier than ever to send off a client booking page, update shoot details or add line items, and take payments that automatically deposit in your bank account.

If you've just signed up for Focal and want to test out the booking system, it's as simple as navigating to the Bookings tab and clicking the New Booking button.

Creating a Booking

In your Focal Dashboard, navigate to the Bookings tab on the left sidebar. This will bring up your Booking Manager -- which you'll use to organize your shoots. Now click on the New Booking button. Please be aware that until you set up your Stripe account, the Pay With Card button will be disabled on client booking pages.

This opens up the Booking Editor.

Here, you can fill out the important information for your booking:

When you're ready, click the Create Booking and Send Email button. This will trigger an automated email to your client (you will also receive a copy) that looks like this:

When your client clicks the View Booking button. They will be able to see their client booking page and click the Pay With Card button to checkout. Please be aware that until you set up your stripe account, the Pay With Card button will be disabled on client booking pages. When your client clicks the Pay With Card button they will be taken to a secure Stripe Checkout page. This page is fully customizable in your Stripe account Branding Settings.

Upon payment, customers will receive an emailed payment receipt (you will receive a copy) that looks like this:

Updating a Booking

Whether it's changing the date, updating the location, or adding extra items (i.e. prints, additional photos) into your customer's order, Focal makes it easy to keep your bookings organized.

To update a booking, simply navigate to the Bookings tab and click the Edit Button on the booking you want to change.

From here, you can change anything you want on the booking:

When you're done, click the Edit Booking and Send Email button, and this will trigger an updated booking email to your client. If there is an outstanding balance on the booking, your client will be able to click the View Booking button to visit their booking page and pay the remaining balance.
